Summer Slow Down 09/07/2010 ‘Cats, Kittens And even Baby Bunnies Plea for help in finding new homes’ The RSPCA Coventry Animal Centre is calling for help in finding homes for some of the animals it cares for. June and July always slow down rehoming due to the holiday season but this year the centre is shocked to have a large numbers of kittens and baby rabbits still looking for homes. Glynis Fletcher Animal Care Assistant said ‘Normally kittens fly out as soon as they arrive at the centre but currently we have 6 kittens who have been up for homing for a couple of weeks with little or no interest. We also have other kittens at our fosterers due to come back over the next few weeks they will need to find homes too’ Baby rabbits have also been a real shock with the centre having 3 litters born here and many of the young are still here. Unfortunately they are fast growing into adult rabbits and would benefit massively from being in a home where they receive lots of attention. The animal centre is as ever fit to bursting and without rehoming animals they struggle to find space for the many animals that need to come in everyday via the inspectors and public. The centre would like to urge anyone and everyone in Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby and surrounding areas who is considering adopting a new pet to visit the centre. The centre is currently home to over 110 animals including Dogs, Cats, Kittens, Rabbits, Gerbils and Chinchillas and many more. Please think carefully before taking on a pet and ensure you are not going on holiday within the next 6 weeks so the new arrival has time to settle in. |
