Help Needed for Stanley
24/06/2010 A team of eight staff members, partners and friends from our Coventry Animal Centre and shops will be taking part in the Coventry Fun Run this Sunday, to help raise funds needed for Stanley, one of the centre’s dogs, who needs a major operation.

When Stanley arrived at the Coventry Animal Centre in early 2010, he was extremely thin and had lots of medical problems. Within a few days he ended up at home with Glenn, centre manager, and Hannah, animal care assistant, for some extra TLC to help him get better.

Stanley wasn’t able to keep his food down and Hannah devoted her time to finding ways to settle his stomach. At one point this took the form of an hourly feeding rota!

Now after a few months and lots of veterinary investigation Stanley is back to a normal weight. However he still has an underlying medical problem, and needs a major operation to help improve his life.
This is where you come in! The operation is set to cost in excess of £1100 and the branch has already spent hundreds of pounds trying to get Stanley better. Our Target is to raise £2000 to help pay for his operation and ongoing treatment.

As ever, there are no guarantees that this operation will solve all Stan's problems but we hope it will help.

Stanley is only 18 months old and we are hoping he can live to a ripe old age. He is a lovely boy who has fitted in a treat at home with Muffin, Glenn’s dog and the rest of the foster animals that come and go. Hannah and Stanley have become inseparable and he now has his home for life, he just needs to get better.

If the branch are lucky enough to raise more than enough money to pay for Stanley’s treatment any extra funds will be used towards the centre’s £50,000 per year bills, to help other animals like Stanley.
