Spring Clean your Wardrobe and Help the RSPCA11/03/2010 ‘Get ready for spring and make some space in you Wardrobe’ Is it time for that clear out you have been putting off? Is it finally time to give up those jeans you have been hoping you will fit back into in? If yes then the RSPCA Coventry Branch needs your help! The RSPCA Coventry Charity Shops are struggling to raise funds for the animals of Coventry due to a reduction in good quality donations. The four shops based in Earlsdon, Allesley, Holbrooks and Wyken have seen the amount of good quality donations fall through the floor which is leaving them struggling to raise the funds they need to for the animals. Susan Huck Chairman of the trustees says ‘Our charity shops prove a lifeline to our animal centre usually raising enough money to pay for all the centres veterinary fees normally in excess of £50,000. The branch is entirely independent of the National RSPCA and has to raise all the funds to run the animal centre within Coventry’ The shops desperately need more donations and following on from the hit TV program Mary Queen of Charity shops shown last year is making an appeal for donations. Jackie Langbridge Charity Shops Manager says ‘we need as much support as we can get at this time and I would really urge anyone who is having a clear out to donate any good quality items to any of the shops. ‘We would love to get some of the larger work places in the city involved just like Mary did on her TV show. We would happily bring some collection bags to a work place and have a collection day to collect all the donations’ Anyone that would like to get there workplace involved can call to arrange a collection week on 024 76 445135. Donations can be taken to any of the four charity shops during their opening hours. |
