‘Callous owner leaves Dog tied to a tree in Sub Zero temperatures’

Animal centre staff arrived at work this morning to stumble across a beautiful Doberman x Rottweiler tied to a snow covered tree half way up the drive.

Newly named ‘Zero’ was swiftly moved from the drive into a nice warm kennel for some warmth and a good breakfast.

Caroline Barnsley Small Animal Assistant who found Zero said ‘It was really lucky that I saw him as he was tied to a tree in the hedge line. I have no idea why anyone would want to dump such a beautiful friendly dog; he was so pleased to see someone coming to help and proved too be a really approachable dog with a lovely temperament.

Zero will now be kept at the centre whist he recovers from his ordeal and undertakes behaviour and health assessment for 10 days after which he will be placed up for rehoming.

Glenn Mayoll Centre Manager said ‘How people can commit such a heartless act of dumping any animal in the snow and freezing temperatures we have been getting recently, I will never understand. We have no idea how long he had been there but thankfully he seems no worse off for his ordeal.’

The centre would encourage anyone one thinking of taking on a pet to visit the centre on Coundon Wedge Drive as the centre is packed full with all animals. Zero should be available for rehoming in the next 7-10days.
