Don't Forget The Little Ones 23/09/2009 The RSPCA Coventry Animal Centre is currently over run with small animals. The centres’ small animal house is bursting with all sorts of furry and feathered friends. As well as the usual rabbits and guinea pigs, they are caring for a number of Birds, Degus, Rats and both Chinese and Syrian hamsters. Some of the longest staying residents are lovebirds Coral, Dusk and Dawn all three have been at the centre now for several months. They are desperate to find a home with a big aviary where they can fly free. Other residents needing a home are TJ and Flo two rabbits removed from a house with over 60 others. Centre Manager, Glenn Mayoll says ‘Unfortunately the number of small animals and birds finding a home through the centre has fallen dramatically during our kennel rebuild. We often end up with large numbers of small animals and really need anyone who could offer a home to visit the centre and meet these loveable creatures.’ Small animals do require plenty of care and attention and need to be cleaned and handled regularly. Although the centre cares and finds homes for hundreds of small animals each year it is surprising how many people do not realise they take these animals in. If you are interested in rehoming on of our many small animals, please visit or call the RSPCA centre on Coundon Wedge Drive 024 76 336616 |
