Moving Fast - Phase 1 Kennel Rebuild
10/06/2009
The animal centre is celebrating another major milestone of its kennel rebuild as the first signs of the kennel blocks begin to take shape. The prefabricated kennels arrived on site last week and there has been no stopping Parasol the kennel contractor in starting the erection of the first kennel units. The outer shell of the kennels should only take a few weeks to complete in anticipation for its new arrivals.

Along with the beginnings of the new kennels the roof is nearly finished on the support facilities building another mile stone in the rebuild.

Staff and Volunteers are all smiles as we see years of hard work fundraising finally coming to fruition.
Centre Manager Glenn Mayoll says ‘The whole team here are overjoyed to finally see the beginnings of our new kennel accommodation taking shape, it has been a long time coming and we really cannot wait to get them into use’.

Glenn continues ‘However we really need the continued support from everyone who has supported the appeal so far. The animal centre has used a large proportion of its running reserves to finance the build which leaves us vulnerable in these current economic times. We need more donations to help us meet our daily running costs both now and when we reopen the kennels’.

The need to get this phase of the build completed is huge with an increase in the number of animals needing to come into our care we really need to re open the kennels as quickly as possible. The animal centre still remains open for Cat and Small Animal rehoming so please visit us during our opening hours if you are interested in adopting an animal
