Coventry Animal Centre Rebuild
12/12/2008
‘Building works due to begin in January 2009’

The RSPCA Coventry animal centre is pleased to announce that their long awaited kennel rebuild will begin in January 2009.

Sue Hucks, Chairman of the committee, says ‘we are really are looking forward to getting Phase 1 of our rebuild underway. We hope to get the new kennels ready as quickly as possible so we can continue to provide care for the needy animals of Coventry and surrounding areas’.

Unfortunately this means the animal centre will not be able to keep any dogs on site during the build and the centre will be closing its doors to dogs for the duration of the build on Tuesday 16th December. After this date the remaining dogs will be transferred to other RSPCA centres across the country where they will be found new homes.

Everyone at the Animal Centre would like to express a massive thank you to all the public support that has enabled this rebuild to take place. However we will continue to need that support to guarantee the future of the centre.

However there is one very special dog at the centre we would love to see rehomed before the the kennels are closed. Benji is a 4 year old X Breed who was transferred to the centre from another branch earlier this year to help find him a home. Unfortunately Benji has been unsuccessful in finding a home, as he struggles with life in Kennels. The kennel team that look after him are really hoping not to have to move him on again as this would be his third kennels in under a year. We would love to see him in a new and loving home for Christmas. Benji would like a patient new owner with older children and no other pets. He is house trained and just needs to be given time to trust new people. Benji is a very clever boy who is quick to learn and he loves his walks.

Glenn Mayoll Centre Manager says ‘Benji really is here through no fault of his own but struggles to show himself well in his kennel. He is full of life and really needs a home where he can learn what life is about again. We are really hoping that we can see Benji in a perfect new home for Christmas rather than being moved to another kennel’

If you think you can offer Benji the home he needs please contact the centre on 024 76 336616 or visit Benji at Animal Centre, Coundon Wedge Drive.

We would like to stress that the animal centre will remain open to Cats and Small Animals for the duration of the rebuild and the opening hours should remain unchanged.
