Successful Summer Dog Show
04/08/2008
A great day was had by all the dogs and people who attended the RSPCA Coventry Dog Show at Coombe Abbey on Sunday 29th June. The weather held out for the day and made the event a roaring success and we managed to raise much needed funds for the centre.

Scores of Dogs came along with their owners to see who was going to win top dog in a number of show classes held from 12midday. In fact so many of our canine friends were entered into the first few classes we had to split them and have two winners in each class.

Caroline Hailstone animal centre supervisor said ‘it was my first dog show at Coombe Abbey and I was awestruck by the sheer number of people there. All the owners and dogs seemed to have a really great day!’

‘I for one cannot wait for next year’

Charity Shops Manager Jackie Langbridge had made a real effort in making new games and stalls for the children to get involved in during the day. All these new games went down a treat and really put the FUN into the fun dog show.

Jackie said ‘we really wanted to show that our dog show is also a really fun day with lots to do. I already have lots of new games planned for next year and hope everyone will come along and support us in 2009.’

As you can see plans are already underway for 2009 and we intend to come back bigger and better. The trustees of the branch would really like to send a massive thanks to all those who came along for the day. It is our biggest event we run each year and provides an excellent source of income for the centre.
We look forward to seeing you all next year!
